Meet Jeff Welt
When you hire a lawyer, you should know who is handling your case. You should be able to get clear answers, understand your options, and speak with an attorney who knows the facts—not feel like your case has been handed off to a case manager, an attorney unfamiliar with your case, or someone you have never met.
Jeff Welt is a South Florida attorney with three decades of legal experience. For 24 years, he was a founder and partner of Welt & Rheaume, P.A., where he helped build and lead a well-established litigation firm representing clients in complex insurance disputes and other high-stakes legal matters requiring extensive preparation and experienced advocacy. Throughout his career, Jeff has handled matters ranging from complex litigation and serious criminal matters to helping individuals and families navigate some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Jeff’s extensive litigation experience gives him the perspective to identify the issues that matter early, build a strong case from the outset, and prepare each matter for the best possible resolution.
At Welt & Associates, Jeff brings that experience to a firm built around personal attention and modern convenience. Clients work directly with an attorney who knows their case, communicates clearly, and stays focused on the result that matters. The goal is simple: make the legal process easier to navigate without making legal representation feel impersonal.
Before founding Welt & Rheaume, Jeff was an associate in the litigation department at Akerman Senterfitt. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, where he handled cases ranging from DUI prosecutions to first-degree murder cases. Jeff’s extensive trial experience shapes the way he practices today: prepared, strategic, and ready to litigate when settlement is not in a client’s best interest.
A lifelong South Floridian, Jeff earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and his Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in The Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Jeff founded Welt & Associates around a straightforward belief: technology and streamlined systems should make legal representation more convenient—not more distant. Clients deserve direct attorney access, clear communication, and a lawyer who treats them as people rather than file numbers.
Outside the office, Jeff enjoys concerts, fishing, comedy, motorcycles, spending time with his family, and bowling. His involvement in the bowling community is more than a hobby; it reflects the same ideals he values in his practice: preparation, focus, competition, and showing up when it matters.
